Prof. James Giordano, PhD, is the Vice President for Academic Programs and Director of the Center for Neurotechnology Studies at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies.  He says in light of what we are learning about traumatic brain injury and concussion, Major League Baseball made the right move when it opened the new season with new rules regarding head injuries. The new guidelines include requirements for players to receive baseline neurological testing and the establishment of a seven-day disabled list for players who have suffered head injuries.  Prof. Giordano says baseball is the latest sport to take a serious look at head injury - and most likely won't be the last.
