OConnellDamien joined the Potomac Institute in February 2017 as a Policy Intern, working in the Science and Technology Policy Division.

Prior to this, Damien served as a Fellow for the Case Method at Marine Corps University, from 2010-2016. In that capacity, he led the effort to institutionalize the case method within the learning culture of The Basic School, the Marine Corps’ six-month long leadership course for all newly commissioned and appointed officers. He has also taught intentionally, presenting decision-forcing cases and workshops at the Norwegian Naval Academy, the Swedish Defence University, and the Finnish National Defence University, among others.

Damien graduated from the University of Arizona in 2009 with BA in History, summa cum laude.

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies is an independent, 501(c)(3), not-for-profit public policy research institute. The Institute identifies and aggressively shepherds discussion on key science and technology issues facing our society. From these discussions and forums, we develop meaningful science and technology policy options and ensure their implementation at the intersection of business and government.
