The Potomac Institute's International Center for Terrorism Studies held a discussion on November 13, 2017 with the Czech Ambassador Hynek Kmoníček entitled, “Czech Republic-U.S. Strategic Partnership.” Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the U.S. and the Czech Republic in 1993, both countries have created common approaches to address multiple challenges nationally, regionally, and globally.
Ambassador Kmoníček provided a unique assessment of the nature of this strategic partnership, including a discussion on security concerns (e.g., NATO, Afghanistan, Syria) as well as promoting economic development and democratic values. Professor Yonah Alexander, Director of Inter-University Center for Terrorism Studies and Senior Fellow at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies, moderated the discussion and Ambassador Charles Ray (Ret.), former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for POW/Missing Personnel Affairs and ambassador to Cambodia and Zimbabwe, provided comments.
