This event will be held in a hybrid format, and the Potomac Institute will welcome a limited number of individuals to attend in-person at their Arlington Headquarters (901 N. Stuart Street, Arlington, VA 22203). Participants will have to opportunity to indicate their interest in the registration form. The Institute adheres to the most current CDC recommendations regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, and all in-person attendees will be required to attest to their vaccination status.

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies is tackling this topic to define the key levers of competition in the Information Age and explore how can the United States, our people and our principles not be disadvantaged in the face of emerging competitors like China, South Korea, and even Russia. What does it mean for us to be competitive in a world where we are challenged economically, militarily, politically, and in the education of our people? How do we thrive with consideration for preserving our cultural, economic and other societal norms?

Shaffer, a former Undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment and a Board of Regents Member at the Potomac Institute, as he leads a robust discussion to define “competition” and whether the US is a position to lead the world in several key areas going forward.

The Global Competition Project (GCP) commissions a spectrum of experts from diverse fields to present insights as to the primary challenges/opportunities associated with societal level competition in the Information Age.
