The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' International Center for Terrorism Studies held a special conference, Maritime Security: Threat Assessments and Response Strategies, on Thursday, November 29, from 10 am - 5 pm at the Institute.   Maritime security is at the heart of the US economy and is critical to its military concerns. Piracy and terrorism on the high seas challenge freedom of navigation and the safety interests of global commerce. At this special, day-long event, government officials and private experts assessed current and future threats and discuss American and international response strategies in the maritime environment.
