The Potomac Institute’s think tank mission is carried out via its academic research centers. These centers aim to produce big, bold ideas for policy in their respective areas.

CENTER FOR EMERGING THREATS AND OPPORTUNITIES (CETO)

CETO is an internal Marine Corps think tank dedicated to developing new concepts in direct support of the Deputy Commandant for Combat Development and Integration and the Commanding General of the Marine Corps Warfighting Laboratory. Its work includes future threat and adversary assessment that seeks to influence development of warfighting concepts, experimentation, and capabilities.

INTERNATIONAL CENTER FOR TERRORISM STUDIES (ICTS)

ICTS educates policymakers and the public in general on the nature and intensity of the terrorism threat in the 21st century. It monitors current and future threats; develops response strategies; communicates with policymakers, academic institutions, business, media, and civic organizations; and sponsors research programs to share findings nationally and internationally.

GLOBAL COMPETITION PROJECT (GCP)GLOBAL COMPETITION PROJECT (GCP)

The Global Competition Project (GCP) will commission a spectrum of experts from diverse fields to present insights as to the primary challenges/opportunities associated with societal level competition in the Information Age. We will start by conducting a by-invitation non-attribution seminar discussion with a headliner, then ask the experts to individually present their ideas to the forum.
