The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' Center for Neurotechnology Studies presented a special CNS Lecture, "The Science of Why We Deny Science," with journalist and commentator Chris Mooney on Friday, October 21.  Mr. Mooney examined questions about why many people don't change their minds or let go of false ideas when presented with scientific evidence to the contrary -  and may even hold on to their beliefs more strongly than before. He argues that thanks to new advances in psychology and neuroscience, this phenomenon can be scientifically explained.  Click below to watch a video of the talk.

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies hosted the sixth event in its Cyber Challenge Symposia Series, "Cybersecurity Policy:  Where Are We and Where Do We Need to Be?" from 2-4 pm on Wednesday, October 5, at the Institute.  The program was part of a series of seminars dealing with the numerous cybersecurity issues currently confronting the nation. Speakers included: Amb. David Smith (Ret.), Potomac Institute Senior Fellow and Director, Georgian Security Analysis Center; Daniel Gallington, Esq., Potomac Institute Senior Fellow and Member, Board of Regents, and former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Territorial Security; RDML Jamie Barnett, USNR (Ret.)
