The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' International Center for Terrorism Studies held an Ambassadors' Forum Luncheon with Georgia's Ambassador to the US, Temuri Yakobashvili, on the "Georgia-US Strategic Partnership: Past Experience and Future Outlook," Thursday, May 19. Co-sponsors of this event included the Inter-University Center for Terrorism Studies and the Inter-University Center for Legal Studies of the International Law Institute.  The Ambassador is known as the architect of Georgia's "engagement strategy" for improving relations between Georgia and the regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia, which are under Russian occupation.  Click below to watch a video of the event.

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies' International Center for Terrorism Studies hosted a panel discussion,  "The Emerging New Middle East and State-Sponsored Terrorism: A Dilemma for Policymakers," on Friday, April 15, from  12-2 pm, at the Institute.  A distinguished panel, including Margaret Nardi, Keith J. Stalder, Terence Taylor, and Stephen Larrabee discussed the dangers of state-sponsored terrorism and what political, social, economic, and military options are available to the international community to reduce conventional and unconventional risks in a Middle East that is currently in turmoil.  Click below to watch a video of the event.

The Potomac Institute for Policy Studies presented the fourth seminar in a series addressing science, technology, and policy issues relative to cyber security, "The Public-Private Cyber Nexus," at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 4. Guest speakers were Edward Amoroso, PhD, Senior VP/Chief Security Officer, AT&T Services; William Marshall, Managing Director, The Chertoff Group; and Jeff Moulton, Director of Program Development and Information Operations, Georgia Tech Research Institute. The program addressed the challenges that arise from the need to protect essential US infrastructure from cyber intrusions, in an environment in which the private sector owns the preponderance of that infrastructure while some of the most critical elements are owned and protected by the government.
